Episode #80 finds our Geeks discussing one of the “greatest” alien invasion ensemble films of the 90’s: Mars Attacks!
We’re celebrating our 50th episode of the podcast with one of our favorite comic book heroes of all time: Batman! First we chat about some of the more noteworthy comic book iterations as well as some of our personal favorites. We also touch on the good/bad/ugly of the Batman film history, and close things out with some speculations on Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” due out next year.
We celebrate the Walkman’s 40th anniversary by diving into a bit of its history. We also discuss the evolution of portable music as a whole, from the late 70s up until recently.
As a warm-up to our main story, we took some time to briefly go over few things that have been in the news recently. These consisted of the Sony/Disney battle for Spider-Man, the announcement of the 4th Matrix film, and the next (and last?) Bond film titled “No Time To Die”.
RAWR! For our third episode of “Goes To The Movies”, Ted and I chat about the latest film in the ever-expanding “Monster” universe with Godzilla: King of The Monsters. This film is definitely not without its faults, which we definitely discuss to an extent. However, this movie is overall a LOT of fun, and would definitely recommend, especially if you’re a long-time Godzilla fan!

On the latest episode of Geek Garage Goes To The Movies, Ted and David dive into the latest in the John Wick franchise, Parabellum. There is hardly anything negative they have to say about this movie, because it’s absolutely incredible. The first 5-10 minutes are spoiler-free, but once they get through their initial thoughts on the movie, there are definitely some spoilers, so listeners beware!

P.S. David apologized for the audio quality in advance. He was an idiot and forgot to plug the audio controller USB cord into the computer. Oops.
In case you missed it, we’re starting a new “chapter” of the podcast called “Geek Garage Goes To The Movies”, where my new cohost, Ted White, and I will be chatting about all kinds of movies (not just the “geeky” ones!).
For our first episode, we discussed John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2, in preparation for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (damn, that’s a lot of John Wicks).
Let us know what you think by leaving us a rating/review, or hit us up on Twitter and Facebook. We’d love to hear your feedback, as well as some movie suggestions that we could cover in the future!
Lastly, we’d like to give a few shout-outs. Go check out The Freakin’ Geekin’ Podcast @TheFreakinCast. They’re a new podcast on the scene, with a very similar topic-base as the Geek Garage. Dakota and Seth are amazing dudes, who are a lot of fun to listen to, so give them a follow and a listen. Also, a big thanks goes out to Josh Evans for providing the new intro/outro music!
