Oftentimes hard work, dedication, and persistence goes unnoticed and/or unappreciated. But we don’t work hard and bust our butts for recognition. We do so, because working hard at work worth doing is one of the more noble parts of life.
However, every once in a while, the sky opens up and drops something precious in your lap. And it’s because of all the hard work you’ve put forth, you’re able to recognize this precious thing. This is what has happened to the podcast.
A few months ago, on a whim we submitted an artist alley booth application to GalaxyCon (formerly known as SuperCon) in Louisville, KY. We did not expect to have our application accepted, because GalaxyCon is a long-running, legitimate convention with tons of talented vendors, artists, guests, and cosplayers. There wasn’t much reason why a relatively young podcast should have a shot of scoring a place among these folks. But that’s exactly what happened.
Last week, we received an email confirming that our artist booth application was accepted! This means that not only do we have another opportunity to reach out and expand our audience and listener-base, but also the ability to represent GalaxyCon and (hopefully) do them proud.
This past July, my buddy Ted (co-host of our Goes to the Movies show) and I made an appearance at AkaiCon’s artist/vendor alley in Lebanon, TN. And let me just say, it was… a learning experience. We got to to meet a lot of cool people, and make some new friends and fans. But at the height of the experience lay lessons learned: We learned what to do, what NOT to do, and everything in between. And we are so incredibly grateful that we have the opportunity to put our new-found knowledge to use so soon after AkaiCon.
So if you plan on attending GalaxyCon 2019, whether you’re local or not to Louisville, we are super excited to see you there! Once we have more information regarding where exactly we’ll be in the vendor hall, we will let you know. You should definitely make it a point to come by our booth that weekend, grab some swag (we’ll have cool buttons, candy, and a raffle), and become our new friends!
